Amir Khan is no longer appealing with the IBF in regards to his fight with Lamont Peterson. Has a rematch been worked out on the side? (Photo by Al Bello/Getty Images)
Amir Khan's team, including Golden Boy Promotions, withdrew their appeal of the December 10 fight against Lamont Peterson, which was due an IBF hearing tomorrow, according to The RING.
No one is quite certain what this means, but speculation is largely focusing on the idea that Khan and Peterson may have reached an agreement for a rematch. The WBA, which was also involved in the fight and had a belt at stake, recently did order an immediate rematch, and if Peterson is officially out of the running to face Manny Pacquiao, then Khan could very well be his top option.
Earlier in the day, Rick Reeno reported that Peterson could be lined up to face Juan Manuel Marquez or Timothy Bradley. Marquez has expressed an interest in the fight, and Bradley, should he not get the call to face Pacquiao, will also need a major fight. It's also possible that Marquez and Bradley may wind up against one another, with Peterson facing Khan.
And then there are the real far outside shots in the dark: Peterson is going to face Pacquiao, or Peterson is going to face Floyd Joy Mayweather (I did it! I called him that! It was stupid!) on May 5, or Amir Khan has been selected for the Mayweather fight. None of these seem likely, and the most probable scenario appears to be that Peterson and Khan have reached an agreement.

Is there any reason to think a Bradley-Peterson rematch would be much different from the first fight? They both seem to be about the same fighters they were then to me. And if styles make fights. Bradley’s style just isn’t very good for Lamont.
But who am I kidding I’ll still watch it.

Basically I really hope we get Peterson-Khan II. I think that’s a much better fight.

Can someone fill me in on what Scott was alluding to here? I don’t get it.
Floyd Joy Mayweather?

Floyd put something out a little while ago that he wanted people to stop calling him Floyd Mayweather Jr and start calling him Floyd Joy Mayweather. Nice to see the Floyd was taking a page from the Diddy playbook. Scott commented on the original name change article that he was never going to call Floyd by his stupid new name.

Oh, somehow I missed all of that.

It was pretty stupid so I don’t blame you for missing it.
