"Mystery man" Mustafa Ameen, an IBF associate whose role in the Amir Khan vs Lamont Peterson post-fight has been debated and speculated about in the last couple of weeks, says that he didn't do anything wrong, but did correct a card being looked over by WBA supervisor Michael Welsh:
"I saw, I believe, it could have been nine, nine and nine - which is 27 all day long. There was an error. It might have been 26 or 28 but he was off by a point or two. I happened to look down and I said 'Michael, nine times three is 27'. He said 'oh my God' and corrected himself. And he said 'I'm not feeling well this evening, thank you very much'."
Someone needs to get Mustafa Ameen to stop talking to the press, because he's not helping anything. The way he talks is just weird. He "believes" it could have been nine, nine and nine "which is 27 all day long." Then he says maybe that wasn't quite it. But then he says that he said "nine times three is 27." And then the other guy was sick, making Ameen some sort of hero.
You know what I'm saying here? It just comes off poorly. Reads as sketchy and weird. There's an inconsistency to his statement that makes it seem like he's scrambling to put it together or something.
The latest on Khan vs Peterson is the same as yesterday: The WBA has ordered a rematch, but Team Khan withdrew their appeal with the IBF, which was to take place today.

jajaja khan was right… thats the way should be, every boxer has to push it to the end when is controversy in a result.. that guy mustafa is obviously he was doing something wrong there…

I bet Kahn wishes he had kept his trap shut now and let all this happen on its own. He could have just let GBP do there little investigation and let Oscar and Schaefer do all the talking to the press and theres plenty enough dodgy stuff here, along with the fact that it was a really good fight, that people would have demanded a rematch. Problem is when you bitch and moan as much as he has folk will always just turn it back on you and point out all the faults in your own performance, of which there were plenty. Silly boy

to be fair this is all khans fault, why pull out of the investigation if you had a genuine belief in its contraversy. if khan is so adament he got robbed by this man, why not have a hearing and see what the f happened, now we’re likely to never know the truth just hearsay from inconsistent quotes. if we had a proper investigation involving the judges on the night, the wba supervisor character and this ameen guy and see what really happened now nothing.

There’s a type of person whose somewhat weak egos are enhanced by “helping,” and it would be better for all if they’d just skip it, but that doesn’t mean they’re corrupt. Personally I sense that this guy Ameen is just that type, a buttinsky blabbermouth, but an honest one. Should have just stayed out of it—any error would have been caught by someone authorized—but probably meant no harm to anyone. The kind of thing that happens. If not, why did Team Khan drop their IBF protest? They didn’t have to. .

this quote (whether done purposely or not) was half of the sky sports news story i read where the other half detailed that team peterson was launching an appeal for the wba to reverse their decision so the more and more this drags on the worse it loks for khan
