Floyd Mayweather Jr donated $100,000 to the Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure on Wednesday, presenting the check at his gym in Las Vegas.
"I think the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization does a great job raising money for a cure for breast cancer," said Mayweather.
"I hope my donation allows them to continue to do this outstanding work."
Stephanie Kirby, Executive Director of Susan G. Komen for the Cure Southern Nevada Affiliate said of Mayweather's donation, "Yesterday, in a word, was overwhelming! The depth of that kind of generosity is not something people see all that often. Susan G. Komen for the Cure serves women and men in communities across the nation, and globally, who are uninsured and underinsured.
"For Floyd to recognize the need in our community and step forward to make a difference shows that he too believes in the vision of a world without breast cancer."

This is textbook PR. Don’t buy the hype.

Pretty, in pink--
It was part of his deal with the prosecutors, as I understand it. Likely he was permitted to choose the philanthropy, and bless him for picking this one, but he was cornered when he offered to ante up.

Can’t complain, but its still the equivalent of community service with a photo-op.

Damn, Floyd just can win
When Mayweather is busy throwing his money around and was seen burning a bill, the first thing people said was: People can use that money. Why doesn’t he put his money to good use.
So he does. He donates it to where it can help a lot of people. And now its a PR move?!?!
I mean if he’s gonna get criticized for GIVING money away, he could’ve just went to a Vegas casino and laid $100,000 on a craps table.

Whether he's doing it cause he cares..
..or doing it cause the courts told him too…it’s irrelevant because 100K to help cancer is a good thing.
