Manila Standard Today is reporting that Manny Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz may still be speaking with Floyd Mayweather Jr about a fight with Pacquiao:
Koncz, who arrived in Los Angeles yesterday, spoke to the Manila Standard, but flatly refused to give any additional details. He claimed that he wants to keep his side of a commitment to Mayweather not to talk to the media about their conversations, following their initial one-on-one meeting at the Mayweather gym last month.
"This is very delicate and very sensitive," said Kocz, although Mayweather and Pacquiao, to a much lesser extent, reveal some details about their phone conversations from time to time.
The Pacquiao adviser admitted he has a series of meetings scheduled in Las Vegas on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, but again declined to disclose, who he is meeting with.
If Koncz is still speaking with Mayweather, which he likely is since there's no reason for those two to stop their interaction and discussion, it's probably more about a fight in November now than it is a fight in May.
The May idea is dead -- Mayweather can't move from the May 5 date, and Bob Arum won't accept that date, and anyway, suddenly Manny Pacquiao says there must be a 50-50 split, which he'd said before was not the case, and that he would take a lesser portion of the revenue to make the fight happen For the FansTM, and Mayweather won't do 50-50, blah blah blah.
So we all pretend that we're going to move on and worry about it later. In November, it could happen. Right.
Right now, both fighters appear to be focused on landing a fight with Miguel Cotto, who could face Mayweather on May 5, or rematch Manny on June 9.

If we're not gonna see the fight until possibly November
I’d prefer to see Mayweather/Cotto and Pacquiao/Bradley.

I’m getting the feeling that as long as both men remain undefeated, the projected November date is solid. The fact that both Mayweather and Pacquiao are now fighting over the same opponent is both staggering and laughable in equal measure, that is of course if the reports we’ve been reading are true.
I’m usually a bit of a stickler for loyalty, but on this occasion I hope that Mayweather and GBP pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat and are able to procure Miguel’s signature for 5/5/12, thus giving Top Rank and Uncle Bob a middle finger turned sideways. Yes, TR gave us a few nice and shiny stadium nights but they yanked Juanma-Gamboa away from us, like three times, please remember that.
For Manny, I plump for Peterson. The “storyline” (shudder) is already written (Trainers don’t like each other, Manny revenging for Amir and A MYSTERY MAN! IN A HAT!!) plus the fight should be The Shit . Bradley? Guy is a proper banana skin for MP. He could upset the whole applecart and I don’t like the sound of Mayweather-Bradley, TBH. Avoid, Manny. Avoid. JMM would be out simply because I’m applying the Bob Arum “I Don’t Do Immediate Rematches Circa 2008” rule.
All this appears well and good, but would Mayweather fight Cotto and Manny within six months of each other?

JMM is out because he’s dumb and thinks Texas judges can’t be influenced, and won’t fight in Las Vegas, where everyone makes way more money.

His having gone from an almost dead certain rematch for bigger money than he has ever seen to possibly fighting Peterson is but another example of him being too clever by half in business.
He is still number two behind Cotto as a money making partner for Pacquiao but he seems not to recognize that he remains the B side of any negotiation with the top two, Floyd and/or Manny.

that’s an intriguing matchup. and bradley’s biggest offensive strength contrasts nicely with mayweather’s biggest defensive flaw (as ortiz EXPOSED!): defending against headbutts.
it’s unfortunate that bradley had those promotional issues keeping him out of action for much of last year. and then to face casamayor as his top rank coming out party. didn’t exactly help create a groundswell of desire to see him get a shot at one of the two biggest money fights….
it’s too bad cause in a lot of ways he could be at the top of the short list as one of pac/mayweather’s opponents. he still might be…

And he will get the big money fight with Pacquiao.

Not sure where comparing GBP and TR came into it, all I was doing was stating my preference for Mayweather-Cotto over Pacman-Cotto II and how it would put TR’s back up if it came to fruition.
