Steve Kim of MaxBoxing said today on his Twitter account that Brandon Rios' next fight could be pushed back into mid-April. The fight was previously reported as tentatively set for March 3 at the Home Depot Center in California, but there has been some trouble securing the opponent.

It appeared that Rios (29-0-1, 22 KO) was headed for a brawl with fellow all-action fighter John Molina, but there has been a lot of trouble actually putting that bout together. Molina (23-1, 19 KO) is rumored to be having some management issues getting in the way of the fight.

For whatever it might be worth, Dan Rafael's schedule at ESPN.com is still listing Molina as set for a February 17 fight on Friday Night Fights against Marvin Quintero, and it's well known that Rafael pays great attention to his schedule and only puts fights on there when they're truly official. Whether that has anything to do with Rios vs Molina not being made, I do not know.

Trainer Robert Garcia also recently admitted that it appeared the Rios vs Molina fight was "falling apart."

Gamboa called out Rios according to BoxingScene: http://www.boxingscene.com/team-gamboa-we-want-fight-brandon-rios-next—48917

Odds of that fight happening?

Anywhere between 10% and 50%. Depends on how it all plays out. They’re appearing to have trouble finding opponents for either guy right now.

Isnt Brandon THAT much bigger naturally

He’s a lot bigger. Gamboa could fill out a bit and be suited to 135 but he’d always be a small lightweight and Rios is a huge one.

I was not aware that Gamboa was 30. These Cuban defectors get over here so late, I just assume they are young looking at their records.

Rios vs. Cote is the one I want to see

def like to see it but cote hasnt been chin checked yet lol..brandon rios will def do that

If Rios ends up fighting in mid-April will that fight still be at the Home Depot center, or is there just no way of telling right now? How often do fighters make deals with venues anyway so that even if a fight is pushed back and a new opponent is given the fight still has to happen at the original venue?
