Vitali Klitschko faces Dereck Chisora on February 18 in Germany for Klitschko's WBC heavyweight title. Here's the fight poster:
Now that's pretty classy for a modern fight poster. Nice, simple, understated. "These two men are going to fight one another," this poster tells us. No fire! No lightning! No silly slogan!

The fight will air on Epix in the United States, as well as BoxNation in the U.K., and RTL in Germany. Vitali, 40, is a heavy favorite against Chisora, but while many feel the brash Brit mostly talked his way into this fight, he's fought his way here, too.
After an ugly loss to Tyson Fury last year where Chisora showed up out of shape, he came back strong with a great performance in December against Robert Helenius, robbed on the cards in Finland. With a lack of legitimate challengers for the brothers Klitschko, Chisora's as good a bet as any to be competitive, or at the very least, make for a watchable fight where boxing fans don't strain to appreciate the craft more than enjoy themselves.

I disagree. There is such a thing as “too simple” and for me, this is it. I prefer the Berto/Ortiz poster. Nothing fancy, but it’s not barebones like this one either. The font in this poster is just awful. The color scheme as well.

Not that I want fire and brimstone either…

This is sort of like the napkin sketch of the Ortiz-Berto poster. I do prefer that one.

Why Chisora face looks so naive?

I really like this poster. I’m so used to the Golden Boy, HBO rubbish with lasers etc. This one is very cool.

That's a goegous poster IMO

The font is pretty bad and the colour scheme screams MS Paint.

Fucking dreadful
Looks like a cheap gay porn poster. Hardly befitting of the world heavyweight champion.

It’s a nice, tasteful, understated poster.
It makes me imagine that Klitschko and Chisora are out on a date at some bar, and some other guy asks Chisora to dance. Klitschko’s ready to fight over this, and Chisora is waiting to see who’s got more to offer.
It’s cute, actually.

This made me laugh

Vitali Klitschko

Dereck Chisora
The Gay Bar Fight
(not that there’s anything wrong with that)
Just a joke.

I’m not imagining a bar — more a nice, quiet dinner, where they’re getting to know one another over shared laughs and three courses and nice bottles of wine (which Chisora is impressed with Vitali’s ability to buy, because Dereck, while no gold-digger, is also not looking for a broke…broke.)

That’s so sweet. You’re such a romantic!
I still want to know why, in the poster, Klitschko seems to intent on protecting Chisora’s innocence, and Chisora seems to look simultaneously comforted with where he is, and yet interested in whoever they’re both looking at.
That says “bar fight” to me. On the other hand, they both have their shirts off, so maybe you’re right.

Although I’m sure that Vitali’s ability to match wines (and vintages) with courses would impress anyone, even Chisora. Maybe they’ll be playing chess later, and that’s why they removed their shirts.

Chess Boxing
FTW?

It also kinda looks like Chisora is looking defiantly at some pool party crashers and he’s telling them that they will not set foot in his house and if they try, they need to go through his personal bodyguard.

Lol. Or maybe it’s a picture of Chisora collecting on a debt.

He went to one of the judges from the Helenius fight and told him to “recant or else”!

Am I crazy for actually wanting to see this fight? I really think it has potential to be good. Both guys are fairly entertaining, which is saying something in this day and age.
Lee Payton - February 1, 2012
No, you’re not crazy, and lots of people want to see this, but I don’t think Chisora has even a faint chance. Chisora will come to fight, because he may think he’s fighting another type of Klitschko.
The closest thing to a Klitschko that Chisora has fought, as far as I know (cue the laughs), is Helenius, but the distance is measured in light years; the only real similarities are in height, skin color, and citizenship in a country that is to varying degrees a member of the EU.
Helenius is pretty good by current heavyweight standards, but he was completely inept at keeping Chisora away, and that’s why the latter had so much success against him. Helenius’ jab was ineffective.
Klitschko’s jab is worlds apart, and unlike Helenius, he and he brother seem to stay in prime condition.
Chisora won’t get near Klitschko, because of the jab, and he’ll get hammered. It will be a slaughter.
