Bad Left Hook

According to our friend Sylwester Jankowski at BoxingNews.pl, Tomasz Adamek's opponent for March 24 is set. The former cruiserweight champion and current heavyweight contender will face Nagy Aguilera in Brooklyn on the Judah vs Paris undercard, live on NBC Sports.

Aguilera (17-6, 12 KO) is a familiar name for boxing diehards, but should be no threat to Adamek. The 25-year-old Dominican, based now in Newburgh, NY, once pulled an upset of a badly faded Oleg Maskaev, a TKO-1 win in December 2009, and put himself on the map.

But as it turned out, that result was more due to Maskaev's decline than Aguilera's great ability. Since that win over the Russian, Aguilera has gone 2-4, including losses to Antonio Tarver, Chris Arreola, and Samuel Peter.

Adamek (44-2, 28 KO) is looking to bounce back from his September loss to Vitali Klitschko, and get himself back into the title mix. Given that this fight is only five weeks away, the choice of opponent shouldn't be a surprise, as it came up fairly suddenly that he'd be on the card at all. Adamek had intended to go his separate way from American promoter Main Events, but he's back in some capacity with them, as he had a lot of trouble finding a fight without their assistance.

In addition to Adamek vs Aguilera and the Judah vs Paris main event, there will be a heavyweight crossroads bout between Bryant Jennings (12-0, 5 KO) and Siarhei Liakhovich (25-4, 16 KO) on the NBC Sports broadcast.
