Tonight's Chavez vs Rubio undercard is streaming live via Top Rank's web site, and you can watch the fights there or just above here in the embedded player.
Featured on the undercard tonight is junior middleweight motormouth Vanes Martirosyan (31-0, 19 KO), taking another easy stay-busy fight against 41-year-old club fighter Troy Lowry (28-11, 17 KO). Martirosyan, 25, is starting to take more and more heat for his matchups, as they seem to be getting worse while he complains about not getting big fights. In his last three fights, Martirosyan has stepped down some each time, going from game veteran Saul Roman to indifferent veteran Richard Gutierrez and now a guy who has no business in the ring with him.
Also featured tonight is welterweight prospect Wale "Lucky Boy" Omotoso (20-0, 17 KO). Omotoso's first two fights with Top Rank haven't exactly been smooth, with rocky victories over Calvin Odom and Lanardo Tyner. Tonight he takes a little step back against Nestor Rosas (11-2, 7 KO), and you wonder if perhaps Top Rank hasn't figured he needs some more work before making any big moves.
Tonight marks the setting of a new standard for Bad Left Hook, as from this point forward, when a full undercard is available, we will be covering the event live from start to finish.
The rest of the lineup after the jump.

Longoria vs Valencia is already happening, so I guess we’ll miss that one. I know, you’re crushed. I am too.
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Well, we missed the first 2.5 rounds anyway. Video’s live.
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Featherweights: Ricardo Valencia UD-4 Jeremy Longoria (38-37, 39-36, 39-36)
The stream came in live late on this one, so I can’t score it, but Raul Marquez for Top Rank had it 39-36 for Valencia and the fight reportedly had plenty of action. This is the first win for Valencia (1-2-1, 0 KO), and the first loss for Longoria (3-1, 1 KO). Longoria was knocked down on a body shot.
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Up Next: Ivan Najera (5-0, 4 KO) vs David Castillo (2-3, 0 KO). Lightweights, 4 Rounds
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
OK, these dudes have come out to “Iron Man” and “Stranglehold” — this is officially the most kickass fight ever. Does coming out to “Stranglehold” in Texas make you an honorary Von Erich?
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Gale Van Hoy sighting!
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Najera vs Castillo Round 1
Castillo coming out winging shots, and Najera is willing to do that with him. Right hand from Najera. This looks like a probable brawl. Left hook from Castillo.
“He turned pro in 1998 but was out for a couple of years.” A couple, 12, whatever.
Najera’s 19. Castillo with a body shot left hand, and Najera is just there to fire shots. Castillo has some gumption. Man these two are throwing leather. Castillo with a decent shot on Najera. Najera criticized by Raul for throwing arm punches. Big right from Najera. Big combo from Najera, and he shakes Castillo a bit. Castillo pops him with a left hook.
This is all offense. Just how I like my four-rounders.
Najera 10-9, but this is a fight
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Najera vs Castillo Round 2
More offense. Castillo getting shaken a bit more this round. HUGE left hook from Najera, then an amazing flurry and down goes Castillo! About eight punches landed before Castillo finally hit the mat. He’s up and Najera’s going for the KO. Najera loading up, and man, Castillo is able to connect with Najera more than he should be, probably.
HUMONGOUS knockdown on another combo, and the fight is stopped by the referee. Woof!
Ivan Najera TKO-2
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Omotoso vs Rosas next
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Omotoso vs Rosas Round 1
Omotoso starting cautiously. I don’t know what it is in America but he’s just not the fighter he was in Australia so far. Rosas gets bored and swings a horrible overhand right from about 11 feet away. Rosas with a little flurry. Good right from Omotoso. Pretty shitty round.
Omotoso 10-9
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Omotoso vs Rosas Round 2
Omotoso winning easily, but he should. Rosas has fought once in six years and sucks.
Omotoso 10-9
Omotoso 20-18
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Omotoso vs Rosas Round 3
Rosas still hitting him too much. Omotoso not having any major problems, but jeez. This is a guy he should destroy by accident even if he’s trying to get rounds. Lucky Boy has turned it up a little bit. Body shots are getting in. Now Omotoso has hurt him. Good body shots.
Omotoso 10-9
Omotoso 30-27
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Hey Scott. Cool that you are doing this.
Matt Miller - February 4, 2012
We always said we wish they’d show full cards like UFC does. Well, they are, so I think it should be given support.
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Came in late, anyone know who’s in the booth with ColBob?
BoxAnne - February 4, 2012
Raul Marquez
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Thank you.
BoxAnne - February 4, 2012
Omotoso vs Rosas Round 4
I think Rosas’ corner thinks this is a four-round fight. That or they plan to quit after this one.
Omotoso imposing his will this round, really cracking him. Rosas is getting beaten up now. This has turned into an obscene mismatch, which it was on paper. Right hands and left hands and Rosas is getting pummeled near the bell.
Omotoso 10-9
Omotoso 40-36
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Omotoso looks like a fun television fighter.
Matt Miller - February 4, 2012
My Top Rank audio stream from their site is odd. I’m listening to it on stereo computer speakers, and the fights sounds, punching, and ref are coming our of my left channel exclusively, with the announcers coming solely out of the right speaker.
Matt Miller - February 4, 2012
Seems mostly normal on headphones to me, but the mixing has seemed weird at various points. Music oddly goes up and down at times.
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Omotoso vs Rosas Round 5
Well Rosas is coming out throwing punches. Apparently he’s gonna get knocked out or pull a rabbit out of his ass. HAAAHD right hand, says Col. Bob. Well Rosas is bringing the fight. Good for him! Just WINGING shots. I mean those are from beyond left field. Big right from Omotoso! God, Rosas is a hoot. Right hand Omotoso, and another. Omotoso swinging rights near the bell.
Omotoso 10-9
Omotoso 50-45
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
good stoppage
Matt Miller - February 4, 2012
Omotoso vs Rosas Round 6
Right hand, left hook, Rosas hangs on again. Omotoso trying to end this thing. Right hand clips Rosas. Referee stops the fight. Might as well.
Wale Omotoso TKO-6
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Rosas was taking too many big concussive shots, and he is too tough for his own good.
Matt Miller - February 4, 2012
Apparently Martirosyan-Lowry up next
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Martirosyan and his pathetic fight against the 41 year old club fighter up next. And the WBC sanctioned it for a belt!!!!
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Troy Lowry in an old AC/DC shirt looks like someone’s stepdad who’s too into AC/DC and weed. I had that stepdad once. He ruled.
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
T! N! T!
It’s dynamite!
Matt Miller - February 4, 2012
still an hour and a half until hbo goes live, so this isn’t the last fight right?
battle axe of doom - February 4, 2012
There’s a couple more four rounders.
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
I hope Lowry knocks his block off
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
I'm rooting for AC/DC too
Matt Miller - February 4, 2012
Lowry getting his head banged.
Matt Miller - February 4, 2012
with all due respect
this lowry guy kind of sucks
battle axe of doom - February 4, 2012
no shit
He’s a 41 year old club fighter
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Martirosyan vs Lowry Round 1
Well it takes about 12 seconds for this to look embarrassing. Lowry’s getting killed. And 50 seconds in, Lowry goes down on a left hook to the body. This is an absolute piece of shit. Total garbage.
I can’t put into words how nauseating I find this fight. Lowry has no business in there. How long do they plan to protect Martirosyan? His record makes JCC Jr’s look like Ali’s.
Martirosyan 10-8
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
There is no way to sugarcoat it… it is crap.
Zocalo - February 4, 2012
raul shouting out to the rio grande valley! represent!
battle axe of doom - February 4, 2012
Raul is f’ing awesome…
Zocalo - February 4, 2012
my favorite marquez
battle axe of doom - February 4, 2012
Shut the fuck up
Zocalo - February 4, 2012
Martirosyan vs Lowry Round 2
Lowry’s bloody, getting beaten up. Laurence Cole should just step in and get this the fuck over with the next time a clean shot knocks Lowry backwards. There is no point to this whatsoever.
How can Martirosyan take another step back after THIS? Is he gonna fight someone in their pro debut? Is he going to fight someone with a losing record? Does Yori Boy Campas still make 154?
Lowry takes a shot to the balls, I guess, and now he’s taking time. People are booing. They should be booing the fact that they paid money and this piece of crap fight was part of the card.
Martirosyan 20-17
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
yo scott
i’ve been meaning to ask you if you’ve seen Luck yet. i’ve heard mixed things about the pilot, and despite the great talent behind it (Milch, Hoffman, Michael Mann, dennis farina, nick nolte) i can’t bring myself to watch a show about horse racing (something i know nothing about)
battle axe of doom - February 4, 2012
Have not seen it, but I’m planning to watch it on HBO Go sometime. And I guarantee you the show is less about horse racing than it is about human crap blah blah blah psychology failings weakness etc
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
God! Bob’s telling us Lawrence Cole is one of the best refs blah blah, you gotta love Bob.
BoxAnne - February 4, 2012
Another fuck up… by cole
Zocalo - February 4, 2012
Whoever okay this match up is the one who really fucked up
Eugene Banks - February 4, 2012
Well whatever his name got several thousand dollars for it… I guess he can pay the bills… so good for him and bad for us who watched it.
Zocalo - February 4, 2012
Martirosyan vs Lowry Round 3
Lowry goes down to a knee and Laurence Cole supposedly stops it, but no he doesn’t. Yeah, let him fight on, Laurence. Maybe you can get his brains mashed in.
For God’s sake, the guy clearly quits and Cole lets him get knocked down again before he stops it. Fuck this fight.
Vanes Martirosyan TKO-3
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Laurence Cole is an awful ref.
theninthlayer - February 4, 2012
and in other news… water is wet ;)
Zocalo - February 4, 2012
laurence cole sucks
him and mercante jr
nickfoxx - February 4, 2012
Hey Scott, do you think Hernandez vs. Cunningham today was a better fight than Kim vs. Rahimov last week?
Matt Miller - February 4, 2012
Yes. Higher level of fighting and more momentum shifts.
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
Finally… good lord…
It really isn’t rocket science to stop a fight where a fight is so one sided….
Marirosyan was like Clubber Lang in this fight.
Zocalo - February 4, 2012
Skinny local guys fighting next….. lets hope for a Luna/Luna classic :)
Zocalo - February 4, 2012
lol coming out to zztop in texas is kind of cheating for that big pop
battle axe of doom - February 4, 2012
I feel physically angry after watching that fight.
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
it was pathetic
Matt Miller - February 4, 2012
I just joined, and was THRILLED to watch Martirosyan beat up some poor grandfather.
Bonkers - February 4, 2012
I stopped watching it. solved everything that way. Just read the comments here.
BoxAnne - February 4, 2012
Well, that was quick.
Bonkers - February 4, 2012
Well that was a good stoppage…
Zocalo - February 4, 2012

Adam Lopez TKO-1
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
So… there I guess I am going to see Rio on HBO now…
Zocalo - February 4, 2012
Mr. Lopez appears talented.
BoxAnne - February 4, 2012
So that’s it for the next hour or so?
theninthlayer - February 4, 2012
yup
Live crowd must be psyched!
Scott Christ - February 4, 2012
lol this is dumb. shouldn’t they have like a long list of swing bouts ready for long delays like this?
battle axe of doom - February 4, 2012
More time to get beer and food….
Zocalo - February 4, 2012
