Here's a look at an early version of what the Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Miguel Cotto poster will (or might, or might not) look like for their May 5 fight on HBO pay-per-view, from Mayweather's official site:
Mayweather (42-0, 26 KO) and Cotto (37-2, 30 KO) will meet at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for Cotto's WBA "super" junior middleweight title, with Mayweather going up to that division for just the second time in his career. The first, as you all surely know, was his 2007 win over Oscar De La Hoya, which set PPV and gate records.

So far response to the Mayweather vs Cotto fight has seemed fairly split. Most of the "hardcore" boxing fans seem to be taking it as it is, even those who feel Cotto has very little chance of beating Mayweather, while a lot of more casual boxing fans (some of those probably consider themselves "hardcore," too -- what an awful word) seem to be pretty flatly rejecting the fight, perhaps because Cotto has very little chance of beating Mayweather, and perhaps simply because Cotto isn't Manny Pacquiao and that's all they care about when it comes to boxing.

I expect this fight to pick up a lot of buzz when it's closer to happening, though, which is a pretty common occurrence for these Mayweather and Pacquiao fights. Everyone complains, then they get interested and they all make the bold pick that the favored man will win, and the needle never moves too much on the pay-per-view buys.

A lil too hazy for me. Hopefully the official poster looks better.

Anyone else think it strange that Floyd is on the right in this poster?
Olbas - February 8, 2012
Yes. Partly the blur, but I visually read the poster wrongly at first glance because of it. Everything in the Western World reads left to right, usually the more favored/powerful would come “first.”

Yeah, I thought that was strange too
